Frieze Frames

Signlex is pleased to have installed the first set of frieze frames for a national retail outlet. These units have a digitally printed canvas with a silicone edging that is stretched over an aluminium frame that can be painted to match any colour. They can be either non illuminated or illuminated from behind - a great way to liven up display walls.  Once the frame has been installed Signlex can simply send replacement prints in the post for simple installation by retail assistants which keep costs low and turnaround times short.

For more  information on these systems please contact a member of the Signlex team on 0113 251 5017.

YMCA, North Staffordshire

“We used Signlex on the recommendation of a third party, as they could work to very short time scales, in no way has this short lead in time been reflected in the quality of the signage that Signlex produced. We at YMCA North Staffordshire, have been completely impressed with signs that have been installed so much so that we have used Signlex for another project where an even shorter deadline for installation was needed. Signlex were a pleasure to work with and made what was a very complex installation run smoothly, liaising directly with the render company to find installation solutions. The installers worked extremely hard, at height and in freezing conditions, they installed over 20 external and internal signs in less than a week.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Signlex, they have been very professional and are extremely good value for money.”

Peter Flynn, Facilities & Estates Manager, YMCA, North Staffordshire

NY Deli, Bury, Lancs

Both fascia and double sided projecting signs provide added strength to a well designed logo through 3-Dimensional lettering and ‘halo’ back-lighting.

Yellow and black are the strongest possible combination of colours and this aids NY Deli to stand strong among its rivals at ‘THE ROCK’ in Bury, Lancashire.

The menu board of aluminium construction with its matt laminated display compliments a simplistic rustic interior that delivers a New York style experience – well worth a visit!

Hotel LaTour – A Modern Classic

The new concept hotel opens in Birmingham City Centre in March 2012 and is the flagship development in a new chain of UK city centre hotels.  It combines 174 bedrooms, business services, a restaurant, bar and street cafe.

Signlex aided the hotel’s imposing presence after being awarded the contract by construction group Galliford Try, to manufacture and install LED internally illuminated high level and lower level signs to compliment the architecture which gives the building its striking presence on Albert Street in Birmingham.

A triangular site on a slope has led to a design with dramatic angular geometry and simple style with limestone and black granite cladding.

Simon Belton, Managing Director from Signlex says:

‘We are delighted to have been successful in winning this contract to  identify the first Hotel LaTour in the UK with illuminated signage .  It has been an interesting and challenging installation programme due to timescales and specialist access requirements.  All teams involved on this project are particularly looking forward to seeing the end result as far as construction is concerned and the start of business for this fantastic new hotel in March 2012.”

Signlex are currently working with main contractor Galliford Try in a well
planned programme of works that will result in ‘Hotel La Tour’ becoming a
prominent name on Birmingham’s skyline. No fewer than five sets of
internally illuminated logos will identify the first hotel of a new chain
that is set to emerge in major cities across the UK over the next five
years. White LED illumination has been used in a range of three dimensional
signs designed to illuminate through the letter faces or from the rear
creating a ‘halo’ of light with the signs viewed in silhouette.
